The Hilton College First Team Hockey for 2025 is calling on all Hilton College hockey teams to get behind this campaign.
For this Hilton vs Michaelhouse fixture, we will play for more than just the scoreboard — we will play to stand up against gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa.
Every goal we score will represent a step towards change, and we invite you to pledge per goal or make a once off donation. All funds raised will go to Angel’s Care, an organisation that provides critical support to women and children affected by GBV in our community.
Our goal is to raise R25,000 this season. These funds will help Angel’s Care continue their work offering safe spaces, trauma counselling, legal support, and education programs that empower survivors and work to break the cycle of violence.

Story
The main aim: is to help children who are survivors of gender-based violence, abuse and neglect.
Angels’ Care is uniquely focused on caring for children of abuse in the Howick area in the KZN Midlands within the Umngeni local municipality. The need for such a facility exists as sexual offences committed against women and children have reached alarming levels in South Africa.
The Centre provides children and their caregivers with access to every form of assistance they would require in the event of their being victims of any form of gender-based violence (GBV) including rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, neglect, physical abuse, or mental trauma.
We also have services for children affected by grief due to losing loved ones to chronic diseases such as HIV, TB or violence.
